I chose this case for my Surface Pro 7 because of the many reviews and the number of stars it received in those reviews. I've also seen it use protective pills which I've seen on TV on some of the shows my wife and I watch. I figured it should be worth the price if they use it to protect their props from damage. Honestly, I'm a little surprised at how many stars this case gets for a number of reasons. I don't see how this can approach the rating of a Military Drop rated case. If you drop your tablet at the right time, it's possible that it will survive, but in that case, take this review with a pinch of salt. I feel like I'm being really generous in giving this case three stars. Pros: The stylus/pen holder for the tablet is almost perfect in its placement on the body and it is not too easy or too difficult to attach and remove the stylus. In most other cases I've tried for this tablet, it's too difficult to remove and place the stylus without damaging it. UAG has done a great job with the design in this area. The corners, back and some edges of the tablet feel well protected thanks to the case's design and the materials used. (See "Cons" for areas to consider before purchasing). Magnets to hold the stand in the "closed" position. In fact, I returned the first UAG case that was sent to me because the stand kept dangling ajar when I held the tablet in my hand. Super annoying! The second case was a little better, but not by much. I actually added two small Velcro strips near the magnets to try and keep them closed when not in use. That made it a little better. (See image) - The rest of the stand is plastic except for the pin that attaches it to the body. This is a really bad part of the booth design. Since the stand doesn't just open smoothly, it takes a lot of force to open it and that puts stress on the hinge part of the stand where the stylus goes through. He leans up slightly. Not good! It will eventually break. As this part of the stand attaches to the rubber backing of the TPU case, the case will also begin to separate from the tablet. (see image) - You should have lifted the rubber on the edge of the tablet screen a little more. This would give the actual screen a little more protection and clearance if the tablet were to fall. There are actually two areas (at the charging port and USB port) of the case that are very weakly protected by the tablet's screen compared to the snug fit elsewhere. (See photo) I can pry the case away from the tablet very easily with a finger, with little to no pressure in these areas. If the tablet is dropped and hits a surface at these points of the case, the screen will most likely crack and the tablet case will be damaged. The cost of coverage with such defects makes them unprofitable. There is a cheaper "knock off" model of this case from Supcase, but it has a plastic footplate. It will likely remain closed, but it will most likely break much more quickly. If they fix those shortcomings I'd say the price would be easier to stomach, but if you can find a cheaper case that's at least comparable in quality to this one in the edge protection area, buy it and save money.
