Review on 🔥 Hamilton Beach Steam Iron & Vertical Steamer: Durathon Soleplate, 1500W, Auto Shutoff, Retractable Cord, Self-Cleaning - Blue (19803) by Charlie Dillon

I love this iron. I have a seamstress/embroiderer. I check constantly, several times a day. As I work with a lot of embroidered items I am constantly destroying irons with fleece, spray adhesive residue, glitter, sequins etc. I want an iron that is *reliable and trouble free under heavy use* and has a reasonable down time system (I don't want it to turns itself off every 90 seconds, but I don't want it to stay there for 15 minutes either, y'know?) * Self-cleaning (helps prevent buildup of deposits and prolongs iron life - learned the hard way, when I was trying to save money and just get a basic iron) * heats up very quickly * has reliable high and reliable low temperature setting * has excellent steam output * doesn't weigh a ton small order right? This iron is this iron. I've noticed that several people have complained that retractable irons tend to damage the retractor. I didn't care if it broke, fine, if not, fine, so I ignored that complaint when comparing. I haven't noticed any issues with the cord storage system since I received the iron. Another complaint I noticed was that the base of the iron (where the cord retracts) is high making the iron unnecessarily bulky. I won't lie, it's a little bulky. You get used to it in about 37 seconds. It doesn't matter at all. If this makes the iron heavier it could be an issue, but I have no complaints about the iron's weight. It weighs less than any of my last three irons, and none of them had retractable cords, so I don't think it makes a noticeable difference! The iron has a lightning-fast response time and heats up quickly and evenly. If you need to lower the temperature, it also responds quickly, the temperature drops faster than my last iron. The cable is long enough for my needs. The shutdown works great and the flashing light tells me it's off and not generating heat so I like that. Overall I'm very happy with this iron and will definitely buy again.
