Danger! Installation requires extra patience!

I recently installed about 20 Gosund Smart Switches and 10 Leviton Key Switches. I bought a 10 pack of these plates because they were the cheapest and were advertised as "screwless". Luckily only five 2 man panels had to be installed but each one was incredibly difficult and time consuming but I'll share what I learned just in case it helps some poor guy. First use a standard flat head. Screwdriver to separate the inside and outside edges of the panel at the two tabs, then carefully separate the two pieces. The inner panels should be perfectly adjusted to align the four tiny pan head screws (manufacturer: these should be Phillips screws as they are hidden). It is important to leave the two switches free enough to allow some "play" for a successful alignment process. Luckily, the design allows for easy access to the screws that attach the switches to the wall, so they should be screwed in last. I would also recommend sitting down and taking the time to lightly thread the pan head screws into the inner panels first, otherwise gravity can inevitably kick in a few times. Thread the pan head screws just enough to secure all four to the switches, then tighten securely. Eventually you should be able to tighten the switch screws. Position the outer panel so the tabs align and you can snap them onto the inner panel. You may notice that the panel does not fit snugly against the wall and the plastic bends inward between the two holes. It seems inevitable, but you can try if you're a perfectionist like me.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
