Let me start by saying I bought this a size 12 for my 11 year old daughter. She usually wears children's sizes 10-12 and this one was a bit loose on her so it fit as I expected. The waist brooch is a detachable pin which I was happy to discover. The dress is perfect for what I'm looking for. I will add that it had a strange odor. I had to hang it up in the laundry room for a few days to age it; something between chemistry and machines; Just be prepared not to put it on right away. Also, the belt loops on the side were unusually large. I'm going to remove them entirely and still use a satin belt as you can do without them. When the dress was put on, they stuck out an inch or more. Overall I like this dress for the price.
