I originally bought this teapot because the universe conspired against me, causing the Honey Bee teapot to break. Also, things had changed at work so I could no longer use the kettle at my desk, which meant I had to find a way to safely microwave water. Wow! Got more than expected. Firstly, this kettle is very easy to disassemble and wash. All components made of stainless steel. Second, the handle doesn't heat up when water boils, making it safer. However, the real advantage of a transparent teapot is that you can see the brewing process. If you like Gyokuro green tea or Fukamushi Sencha, observing the color development will help you brew a delicious cup of tea. I will never buy a Honey Bee kettle again. This kettle is a clear winner. The universe has spoken. ;)
