My six year old daughter is skinny and the size small in this skirt is just right for her. I think a medium size would be better but the skirt has stretch so she can wear it ok. It's a very pretty flowy skirt that looks great over her bathing suit. It's transparent, but I wouldn't call it transparent. I am very happy with the quality and the look.
