GREAT LIGHTS.TERRIBLE AM RADIO

This radio has a very nice backlight. Weather range works well here, but there's a cell tower nearby so I can't comment on receiver sensitivity. The FM band seems to work quite well. This radio is built like a tank but has a weak grip that a small child will quickly break off. Do not let children play with it. It works well, spins easily and will last a long time if handled with care. If you turn the crank at two revolutions per second for a few minutes with an empty battery, you can listen to the radio for an average of 8 to 12 minutes, sometimes longer. The AM band on this radio is a VERY IMPORTANT band for post-disaster news. like hurricanes, it's just awful! I've never seen an emergency radio for less than $50 with a working AM receiver! This one actually picks up fuzzy signals and is the best I've seen. LAUGH OUT LOUD! Building a working AM receiver is not difficult. Do you think these sellers will strive for quality? Once a hurricane hits your area and all cell towers in the area are damaged, AM radio becomes a lifesaver for information as AM signals can typically be heard at much greater distances during the day and up to 1000 miles at night than FM stations. That is, if you have a working AM radio. But most buyers don't care about AM radio, so I'll give it four stars instead of three. When you get it, you'll have to read the instructions to find the incredible reading lamp that tilts forward. You have to press the button. You will also need instructions to locate the AAA battery compartment on the back. If I hadn't been told they were there I would never have guessed how well hidden they are. This radio has a USB phone charger and an input for charging the internal battery. Remember that the phone chargers are best used to make a quick emergency call or send a text message after connecting a dead phone to the device. In some cases, another person may need to turn the crank to turn on the device while the other person is using the phone. The solar panel takes a few days to charge the radio, but it will keep the batteries charged if left in a sunny window. Don't expect this thing to charge your phone to 100%. Attempting to do this will drain the radio's battery and leave you without the radio and light without producing much torque. This is an emergency device. When all your power supplies are dead and all that's left is that radio, you can ring your phone and use it to send text messages. because the lights quickly drain the batteries in the radio. But you can also get some AAA batteries to use when the battery dies. I would recommend an inexpensive foldable USB solar panel to keep your power banks and other USB devices charged in an emergency.
