Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ ASUS VP247H-P Monitor 1920X1080, 75Hz, Flicker-Free, Blue Light Filter with Built-in Speakers by Thomas Johnson

Good monitor for an extended desktop

I recently bought one of these last night. I'm using an Asus VH242H 24" LCD monitor - an old, old monitor from 2010 when CCFL backlighting was still possible. I bought it as a cheap second monitor (only $140, don't know why $400 at Revain). .and thought hey, maybe I'll use that for my new main monitor, this monitor is comparatively very bright, even at maximum brightness and with the blue light filter set to level 1 or even to level 0. ICC color profile from the Asus site does not change the colors Substantially from the default settings Preset color/display modes are basically the same as any Asus monitor like Standard, Theater, Game, sRGB etc. I don't really know why but the old clunky VH247H gives a better picture despite having a seems to have lower contrast ratio I've kept trying to make this monitor look as good as my old one but I don't think this thing is lit from the side and not by It's backlit. Keep it up, the OSD and controls are terrible, albeit a little less terrible than the old monitor. Why they keep putting those poor on screen menus and the semi-impossibility of navigating menus on monitors rather than just providing a remote control is beyond me. The only real, serious complaint I have about this monitor is that the speakers are COMPLETELY weak. I don't know if mine is broken, but the sound quality I get from my old monitor is much better. The only thing that makes this monitor sound better is the presence of a headphone jack. I have 2 headsets and a pair of headphones plugged into my computer so it really doesn't mean anything to me. So this is a good inexpensive monitor if you want to add extra workspace to your setup without emptying your bank account.
