This item was purchased to replace another mirror that was no longer working because the cord connection in the arm was causing the light to turn on and off caused. This new mirror has no protection behind the panel so over time it will cut into our newly painted bathroom wall. The main issue, however, is that the light is bright when you turn it on, but then dims a bit, and it does so automatically. We can't force it to stay bright. In addition, there are 2 tabs to rotate the mirror to remove it and change the batteries. One of the tongues broke off immediately, even though we were very, very careful with it. After all the headaches of patching the wall and replacing another mirror, we just keep this cheap mirror and try not to move our hands. It's ok but disappointing.
