Doesn't look as good after washing

Your opinion of this throw will probably depend on what exactly is important to you about the bedspread.1. If you want warmth, weight and comfort, you'll like this. Right out of the box it felt rough and "polyester". After washing it softened and resembled the heavy cotton bedspread I was expecting. Note that it will fill your dryer lint filter to its maximum capacity! It's heavy enough to be a winter quilt.2. If you want a clean, perfect look, this will drive you crazy! First of all, after washing and drying in the cold, it doesn't even stand close to the ground. In fact, it barely covers the box spring and I don't have a super thick mattress on my bed. Next, the fairing on the overlays doesn't give the perfect little angles as pictured. It tends to flap around in different directions as the fabric gets quite soft after washing. The most problematic thing is that with this duvet, every crease in the duvet underneath is visible. When my cat walks on the bed, her little footprints turn into dents. The fiber-filled blanket masks wrinkles and rebounds from dents, but this, especially in a dark color, shows all the flaws. In terms of quality, the material is good, but I have at least one spot where the edge has torn after just one use. Wash and another where there is a visible flaw in the fabric. If you only care about how your cover feels when you crawl in and close your eyes, choose this. Personally, I mostly noticed this when looking at my guest bed and I'm a bit disappointed.
