Review on PORTER CABLE PC60TPAG 7 Amp 2 Inch Grinder by Jerry Mangum

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A great grinder for the price.

I have several 4 1/2" grinders as they are very useful for welding/plumbing jobs. Rather than wasting time replacing a grinding wheel with a cutting wheel, wire brush, serrated washer are they're so cheap now that it's easier for me to just grab a bunch of them, put different accessories on top of them and take what I need depending on what record it's on. For each job. But here's the rub. At on all my other coffee grinders the side handle sticks out at a 90 degree angle while the porter handle is tilted up a bit, like 15 or 20 degrees. Not critical but it's different when you change places with other cars. Another small issue is that the handle is oddly shaped, in fact the shape of the slightly blocky, short handle is just nice, the paddle switch location annoys me, on the handle is located a small indentation e, obviously intended for the last fingers of your strong hand; However, the paddle switch is very high up near the grinding wheel, so you have to swipe your first finger there to activate the paddle, as the safety lock is on the top of the paddle so you can't accidentally press the paddle. without first activating the security lock. Makes the hold a bit awkward, you have to move the paddle deeper. But it works great and you can't beat the price for this quality so I ordered a few more. 6 amp models :) This model has a side lockout switch instead of a paddle, and from the photos the side handle appears to be at a normal 90 degree angle to the body rather than the slightly angled handle.

Pros
  • Angle Grinder
Cons
  • Big and bulky
