This toaster replaced an old T-Fal toaster that still worked but showed little sign of a possible replacement. I liked the T-Fal but as you can see from the picture it was showing signs of age. One thing I didn't like about the T-Fal was that the words stating what each button does could be wiped off very easily with a single wipe of a washcloth. So this time I chose a different brand. I've researched all the websites that sell toasters and found that there are no perfect toasters (at least not according to the opinions I've read). It didn't seem to matter how much you spent. Since I really didn't want to spend €400 on a toaster, I decided on this KRUPS model. For $68.46 I have an attractive toaster that does the job well. I love bagels and I should have given KRUPS a higher rating for toasting bagels compared to my old toaster. Does toast take longer than my old T-Fal? Maybe that's it, but whatever. I'm not sure why this is an issue with many of the comments I've read. If I want toast, I put the bread or a bagel in it, and then I go to set the table, get what I want to put on the bagel, etc. I don't get up and stare at the toaster with bated breath. This toaster is very easy to keep clean and I love that the crumb trays are in the front (my old toaster had them in the back). I've been using this toaster for a little over a week. Will it last more than seven years like my old toaster? Time will tell but for now I am happy with my purchase and I have faith that you will be pleased with this mid-range toaster.
