Review on Willow & Everett Whistling Tea Kettle - 2.75 Quart Stove Top Tea Pot with Stainless Steel, Mirror Finish & Strainer by Chris Crawford

Love the lever that keeps the whistling spout closed

What I liked most and made me buy this model is that the lever that keeps the spout open closes automatically when you release it. That way you don't forget to close it when it's on the stove and you don't hear it whistling when the water is boiling, which I often did with my other kettle. The only thing I don't like about it is that the lever gets in the way of the filler and is difficult or impossible to fit under my water dispenser spout. This has been solved by pouring water into a jug, jug or large measuring cup and using that to fill the kettle right on the stove, which isn't that awkward and since it's water and I use containers for other purposes all the time anyway have to , I'm not going to stain the container so it's not that big of a deal. This kettle is also quite heavy compared to the old one due to the multi-layered bottom, so at first I would have thought there was more water in it based on the weight (if I hadn't looked inside). Overall this is a good kettle, very heavy, strong and well balanced; The plastic on the handle means you don't need a towel to pick it up when the water has just boiled like the old one my sister used on her gas stove which was all stainless steel (I bought two of these, one for you). one for me). In her case, it looks more like the one she used before, except for the plastic on the handle. Mine allowed me to stop using the old kettle which I sometimes boiled dry because I forgot to close the spout which is good and is the main downside of the old one which was basically a defect on mine.
