Congestion without a smartphone

My device came with mid 2017 maps when I ordered it in fall 2018. I tried updating the maps (there have been 5 updates since the release of this device). I couldn't update with my 9 year old. an old computer with an old operating system. While I can download the updater to my computer, it is not possible to update the Via module. However, I love traffic reports. Traffic is updated approximately every 5 minutes, so information is not up to date. Traffic tells you how long the delay might be and how far ahead the problem is. He will also suggest an alternative route if possible. Great if you don't want or don't have a smartphone. This feature was important to me, along with the instructions. Old maps are not that important. I will have another family member with a newer computer to help me get map updates when I really need them. The touch screen has a delay when it first starts, it can only take a long time to load. The cord to connect the device to my car is at a slightly awkward angle, so the clamshell I use to hold the device doesn't allow me to center the device in the clamshell. The included holder should solve this problem. I just don't want to press the original holder against the dashboard or glass. The device also displays a split screen when approaching exits or turns to indicate which lane(s) to stay in to stay on course. Overall a very good block of traffic for the price.
