Surprisingly good pears! The light is very bright and the color rendering index is the defining feature of this lamp. However, there is still an issue with the color in the red part of the light spectrum. In this light, red colored objects appear a little faint, but not as bad as most incandescent lights (except for incandescent and halogen lights). The Low Blue Light feature removes high-frequency blues, and does it really well, without disturbing the 5000K color temperature. . I was surprised. However, low blue light on a 5000K bulb is a pretty useless idea. This light will definitely keep you awake and I don't even try to use it after 9pm. The form factor is a little odd and uncomfortable. Big and round, it fits my kitchen lamp perfectly, but I know it will cause problems with other types of lamps. YMMV.
