Review on Holloway House Lemon 16 Ounce Bottles by Heather Schmidt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly Recommended by Furniture Dealers

This vintage teak shade has been in my family since the early 1960's. Dad brought it back from his year-old TDY in Japan. It has been well cared for and cleaned and oiled over the years. I wish my mom could see the difference this particular lemon oil has made - it looks great and smells great. (I'm sensitive to strong smells.) The luster of the wood grain is even more remarkable in person. The furniture dealer told me it was the best on the market. The luminous finish is more beautiful than I've ever remembered from years past. I used a small brush to apply. Then wipe with a clean cloth to remove excess material. Make sure it is wiped and dried before placing it on the carpet after this treatment. Cracks and crevices cannot be wiped. After a few days it was still dripping down my leg leaving a small oil stain on the tile. See photos before and after. The grayed out before image shows the screen after it has been cleaned with Murphy Oil Soap but before the oil treatment. After learning more about taking care of teak, I plan to clean it with Holloway House Waterless Wood Cleaner. Obviously, lemon oil has a long shelf life. The oil used in this demo is over 10 years old. The price has increased so much recently that it is best to buy a suitcase.
