I did a little research before purchasing this product and I'm glad I did. You and others could be seriously injured if you do not use this safety product. Do not touch the bulb, only touch the lower socket. I suggest you wear gloves. It is dangerous to look into the supplied light. After installing mine, I left the room, closed the door, and then turned on the light switch. I was lucky that in all the rooms I used it in, the light switches were outside the room. UV light can damage clothing by discoloring it, exposure to light can damage your skin, and looking directly into a lighted or lit lightbulb is very dangerous. Be careful which UV lamp you buy, it kills bacteria and viruses, that's what it's really made for. some others don't pay as much attention to the label before buying.
