PERFECT for the lake. No velcro or tampering. We have ordered them twice and they are great! Order a size up if you want them to last 2 years. They basically stick to your kids feet like glue so size doesn't matter as long as they aren't too small and their toes are crunchy OR if they are too big and can't walk without breaking the front. But we ordered one size larger than our child due to the odd size, so it fits longer. I am dying to get myself and my husband some adults!
