Review on 🏺 Encheng 4 oz Glass Jars: Airtight, Leak Proof & Label-Ready | 30-Pack by Amanda Davis

Good price if you're careful

These attractive glasses are great value for money. A disadvantage is that the seals are not completely reliable. Previous reviewers warned me of the potential problem, so I partially filled each can in both of my orders before leaving them upside down on the newspaper. When the first order was placed, it was found that a can was so deformed that it would not close. The rest seems ok. On the second order I accidentally imposed a tougher test by leaving the jars outside overnight. I think it wasn't just the inverted glasses that were longer; Sunlight increases the internal pressure and heats the trapped air. About a third of these jars showed some leakage, although they can still be used for my purposes. The odd-shaped wire staples also required some adjustments (and even reshaping with needle-nosed pliers in one case). In the first case, the handrails appeared to be more reliable and consistent, indicating different sources or a change in manufacturing processes. The jars are an attractive package at a good price, but don't expect a 100% yield. The packaging is attractive and explosion proof: when cans arrive broken I don't even want to think about how they were abused in transit! But inside a recyclable corrugated box, it looks like a nightmare: multiple layers of foam with cutouts for cans. This is in addition to delivery from another hemisphere. I would really like to see recyclable or compostable packaging.
