Insulation defective within 3 weeks

The first two weeks this cup was just super. I agree with all the positive reviews: beautiful appearance, good functionality, tightness, good insulation, etc. Then, about the third week of use, I noticed that it no longer retains heat. The whole mug gets hot where it wasn't before and my tea in it doesn't keep that hot anymore, now it cools down pretty quickly. It also outgass chemical odors. Eventually, the lid's stainless steel detached itself from the plastic it covers, causing it to slide off when I try to tighten or loosen the lid. It seems to me that the insulation has broken or somehow failed. She's not isolating like she was when I got her just 3 weeks ago. I think the degassing must be related as well, but I don't know for sure. For what I paid for this mug, I expect it to run "like new" for at least a few years before noticing any degradation in performance. 3 weeks is not acceptable. I have disposable cups from gas stations that have lasted me longer. It's a great design and concept, but they need to figure out how to make it last longer.
