Review on πŸ’» Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard by Karen Watson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Nobody can make a good product as bad as Microsoft!

Perhaps another great example of how Microsoft can ruin something great! The previous version of this keyboard was amazing and after getting so used to it I decided to buy this newer version and they screwed up enough! They decided to add 2 new buttons - one to start Office and for that they moved the right mouse button to the left side next to Control! This made the Windows key (or "Start" key) much narrower and instead you often kept pressing the right mouse button! To make matters worse, they lengthened the Ctrl key on the right! Now most of the keys under the right shift are useless and the useful keys are useless! The layer that allows you to make the keyboard straight or raised has been removed! So with a different stand you can only tilt your keyboard, which isn't a bad thing, but it's not how you always want your keyboard to be! No LED indicators for Num Lock, Caps Lock! You tried replacing it with keys you might never have used. There are also 2 keys "Delete"! No, I'm not kidding or exaggerating, there really are 2 Delete keys, not counting Del in the Num Lock key and an additional Clear key for the numeric keypad! Then there are 2 backspace keys - one for the regular keyboard and the other for the number pad! When I think about it, the Macbook only comes with 1 backspace key, not that I'm a big fan of that, but compare that to 2 delete keys and a backspace key to make commonly used keys shorter! The keys aren't as deep as the 4000. It might not be that bad, but the feel isn't the same as the old one.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
