If these reviews are merged, this review is for the Koomus Pro Magnetic Dashboard Smartphone Car Mount listed as "Koomus Pro Dashboard-M Universal Magnetic Car Mount for Smartphones without a Stand All iPhone and Android devices I have a larger phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with OtterBox Defender, I simply slipped a steel plate between the two layers of the case and my phone is held to the mount as tightly as I want - if it is If it were stronger it would be difficult to remove.The surface has a thick block of rubber with a texture similar to the case of an OtterBox so my phone doesn't move or rotate when I don't want it to.The base of the mount is yellow coated and very sticky so the suction cup works on most surfaces, nich It's not just on the ones you'd expect from a suction cup - at the moment I've mounted it on a vertical pole on my desk so my phone is at eye level while charging. (You can wash the gel pad to restore adhesion if you move it.) But for uneven or curved surfaces that won't work with a suction cup, they also include an adhesive pad, so they're covered too (although in cases like this I use one weighted beanbag base might recommend). The mount comes with two steel plates so I can use one with another device - I can glue the plate to the GPS and reduce the number of mounts in the car. And not all devices even need steel plates. I have a smartwatch (Pebble Time) and I can hang my watch on the mount while it's charging so it's much easier to read than if it were sitting on my desk. I very much doubt buying an extra mount just for the watch so I can hang both my phone and watch if I need to charge them at the same time. And as a bonus (from my point of view) it's made in Korea, which almost always means better build quality and longer lifespan than products made in China. No offense to Revain customers in China.
