I bought a L, I'm a size 10. So when I held the pants against me I thought no way it's going to fit me. I tried them on and they were a tad big but very nice. I could have gotten away with a medium I guess. The only complaint is the part below the knees are a little too wide, like bell bottoms. But I bought 2, might buy a 3rd.
