After watching YouTube reviews and seeing great reviews here on Amazon, I bought the microphone. I've tried them on several occasions when I really needed the best recorded sound (funeral and life story recordings). Both times I was severely disappointed. The story of life - static stopped, then a loud popping of static, then it returned to normal, then within 2 minutes the static increased again and then the cracking of static. over and over again throughout the recording. A few days later I had to record EVERYTHING with other microphones I already had. I was concerned about this issue, so when I was recording a funeral recently, I connected headphones to the camera to listen live. And exactly the same problem. Everything seemed fine and after a few minutes the static electricity gradually began to build up until a crackling noise was heard. I ended up turning them off and just using the camera's built-in microphone. So I'm disappointed. I'm not new to microphones and sound recording. It wasn't my phantom power, it wasn't my mic cable, it wasn't my connection, etc. It was the mic. I retested at home after trying a different activity and the same problem occurred. They look high quality, look cool and are big. However, if you want something that will give you good sound when you really need it, don't buy it.
