I just got this kennel and it is everything I hoped for. The only thing I can change is the board used for the soft ground. This is a lightweight plywood and does not strip well when needed. The lid comes off, but sits tight. I'm looking for durable plastic to replace wood. The kennel is not too heavy and easy to assemble, no instructions needed. There is a strong smell of synthetic plastic, which will disappear after airing it out for a few days. Next trick is to get my suspect 40# Aussie in there. He succeeded with his kennel Kong, which is made of thicker wire but is not portable. Updated May 8, 2018. Have kept box covered outdoors or in direct sunlight at night for the past 8 days to allow the UV rays to remove the odor. It seems to have worked fine. Just brought to the room and no obvious smell. Do the same with the tote bag.
