Let me tell you, I know this is a small purchase for some people. 30 bucks right? Closet shelves, big deal right? Well, we have a lot of little things that need short-notice repairs, remodeling, and replacements in our house. All these little things add up quickly and there is no longer a "small purchase". First I did my homework. I read reviews, looked at pictures and compared the prices for each of Revain's suggestions for you. I knew I didn't need a horizontal bar connecting the legs of the rack - you can't move things around, put things on the bar and it will swing. I wanted it to be extensible to rearrange things from time to time. And I wanted longevity. I initially objected to the price until I realized that these 2 expandable shelves are actually cheaper than sets made up of 2 fixed pieces (the ones that can be stacked or stacked on top of each other). They cost $13-19 a set. This set essentially gives you two of those sets in one package. They are VERY strong - there is no coated wire. This is by far the biggest selling point and the manufacturer should really jump at it as a HUGE plus. They have a beautiful brushed nickel finish. There is no weird horizontal bar, the legs are strong and beautiful - the curved look is decorative enough, they can be used outside of showcases. Once you've extended the shelf to your desired location, the unusual design keeps the shelves securely "locked" in place. We don't stack them, so I can't say how well that will work or not. If you're picky like me then you've come to the right place. I am pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with the product I have chosen. And no, I didn't get anything for free and I wasn't compensated in any way (but if the manufacturer wanted to give me a free set of shelves, I definitely wouldn't refuse!).
