You don't have to worry about it breaking like me do it with my glass jars. For years we've been making a big pot of iced tea and using glasses every day, but twice we've had accidents where they hit something and just shattered everywhere and it's a big mess to get rid of all those tiny bits. This is a very good set. The quality is excellent and the weight is nice (not too heavy, but not too light). We've used Stanley products for decades and it's a brand we trust so I was pleased to see this jug set. It can be washed in the dishwasher, but we hand wash everything and they are all easy to clean by hand or with a brush. The only improvement I would like would be if the pint glasses came with lids. I like to keep my drinks covered so I don't have to worry about what he drinks from it (especially if it's alcohol) if I put it where my dog can climb. The pitcher came with size options because I would like a slightly larger one, around 88 ounces like my glass pitchers.
