Review on SE 270 Lumens 2-in-1 Camping Lanterns (2-Pack) - FL804-3COB-2: Brighten Your Outdoor Adventures! by Kayla Miller

Here are my impressions of the SE FL804-3COB-2 camping light. GOOD: -- BRIGHT EXHAUST LIGHT: The retractable lamp is bright. Claimed 270 lumens and I have to agree. It's bright. Ideal for hanging over a camp stove on a dark evening. - DURABLE PLASTIC BODY: The body is made entirely of plastic. I suspect that with reasonable handling and the occasional drop it will hold up well. - MOVABLE HANDLE: You can mount the handle vertically like a flashlight or end up hanging over your kitchen table. BAD: -- NO USB CHARGING: SE FL804-3COB-2 is powered by 3 AA batteries. The flashlight cannot be charged internally, in other words, it cannot be charged with a USB power adapter. Of course you can use rechargeable AA. But the convenience of camping and the luxury of charging the lamp without changing batteries are lost. -- CLOSING LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF: When the retractable lamp is closed, it will not turn off when closed. It can only be switched off using the on/off button. It's likely that if you leave it on and closed, you won't notice the light and the battery will die. -- FLASHLIGHT OK: The end of the flashlight is just a 3W LED and can be used as a last resort when it's around. Not much brighter than a keychain flashlight. CONCLUSION: I really wish the flashlight could be charged via USB. I think this is a major design flaw.
