The locking mechanism came loose after a week
I bought these for diamond studs as the original backs were nickel. They are hypoallergenic and very comfortable but do not close. To clarify, they seemed to be locked when I put them on, I pulled with decent force and they didn't budge, but after a week or so the locking mechanism seems to have disengaged and they're pretty easy to remove now. without unlocking. I will send these back.
