Review on 🐠 Premium Tetra 29137 Water Wonder Aquarium Kit - Black, 1.5 Gallons: Stunning Aquatic Elegance for Your Space by Michelle Rogers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I've been going for almost 5 years and I'm still going.

I bought two of these cubes in 2012 and have been actively keeping roosters in them for almost 5 years now. 1 the tank started losing power about 2 years ago. The filter wasn't as strong as it used to be, and the LED on top dimmed and eventually went out. The other one I bought at the same time still works even after typing this. I'm currently looking for a replacement. They have served me for many years, although they are not without flaws. The filters are not very durable, which can be both a good and a bad thing. The water outlet seemed perfect for betta, not too strong a current but the water stayed clear. However, a strange film of oil kept appearing on the surface of the water. To this day I still have no idea what caused it but other than being a little rough it never harmed my fish. It's just there. I've never seen it in any other aquarium I've had, just these cubes no matter what water I used. The aquarium is made of plastic and is scratched, making it difficult to remove limescale from the walls. the tank is very heavy and the clear plastic has become a bit cloudy over the years, but that's ok. The LED bulb will fade after a few years, but I've had success keeping live plants in good health with just these LEDs. My biggest complaint has to be that the light and filter are coupled together. Using the same connector and therefore the filter cannot be separated from the block. I wanted to change these filters but I can't. I would have to cut the cable to get it loose. Filters are just annoying. Sometimes they are very noisy for such a small filter, they quickly become clogged, and the water output becomes almost zero. The suction cups that hold the filter to the side of the tank don't last long. After about a year of work, the suction cups were almost useless and the filter accidentally fell into the aquarium from the side, scaring my fish away. Once started, he never stopped. After a day I had to pull the filter out of the water and smash it sideways hoping it would stay. All in all, these tanks lasted longer than I thought they would. This is the perfect little tabletop aquarium that has kept my bettas happy and healthy for years.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
