Used these ink refills with the "drop at a time" method. I put on gloves, turned the cartridge upside down, and then dripped a few drops onto the cloth-covered opening until it ran out of ink. No fuss, no fuss, everything went very well. No drilling, no tape, but be aware you'll spill some ink as you work, so watch your desk and your hands. Takes a little longer than the fancier sets but works like a charm. My printer is mad at me and refuses to report ink levels, but I don't care. I get 5 or 10 refills for the price of a new cartridge. It should always be like this!
