You may have read recently about ultra runners in China who died after getting caught in an unexpected snowstorm. If you leave your car or other aids, you are on your own. I bought these Go Time Gear Emergency Survival Life Ponchos because I wanted something light, protective and reliable when your life was on the line. These ponchos are compact and lightweight. They easily fit in my backpack or running vest. I took them out of the carrying case and found that it was relatively easy to put them back in the bag after use. They seem to hold up better than those $2 plastic ponchos you can buy. The "sleeves" should keep the poncho on you even in strong winds. Internal Mylar noise. This is not a poncho you would want to walk around in. Of course, as with all "survival" gear, whether it's water purifiers, flashlights, or matches, the only way to know if it works in extreme conditions is to test it in extreme conditions. I avoid these extreme conditions! With that in mind, I look forward to taking one of these ponchos with me on my travels and hope I never have to use them.
