All my cameras were Canon (3, latest SX 130 IS) and I always thought there was nothing else. Canon has smooth cameras with very logical and rich menus, but I've never been able to shoot video indoors without focusing problems. It always lost focus and then regained it when there were clicks in the background. I thought I was, so I used focus (half button) and then AF lock. This camera doesn't lose focus in the middle of a video until you zoom in. Some here have said that the moon shot needs to be taken 5 times to be correct. Well I've had this camera for 30 hours and I held my breath while I took the moon shot. Simple: ISO=100, use camera and 2 second timer, spot metering, choose M, close aperture above 7.0, magnify moon to about 30x and shutter=1/50 or higher. Trust me, you will get the best photo of the moon that any camera can take. The only problem is that if you forget to always turn it off, the flash will fire. I hope that in the next firmware Pentax can add Flash Yes/No to the menu to easily disable it entirely if needed. Buy it and learn how to use it and you won't be disappointed. 08/31/2015 The flash problem can be solved by turning off the flash, then going to Menu and CS (Custom Setting). Then P is used to permanently turn off the flash and other settings you had when setting the custom setting. The only problem I encountered. see This camera has a focus that is momentarily lost when zooming in and out in movie mode.
