I didn't read carefully enough and was hoping for recyclable pens. You can "break" them to make them reusable, as the only thing stopping the plunger from returning is an entirely unnecessary "ratchet" mechanism whose teeth can be broken if you pry it apart properly which allows the plunger and handle to move back the second time it's refilled, but to be honest it's more of an annoyance than a benefit. I still don't like things that are meant to be thrown away just because it adds a bit of trouble to the whole single-use plastic epidemic. Although it doesn't usually flow, which is nice. I filled them with jojoba and rolled them up at home as "nail oil".
