I bought this jacket specifically to wear in Maui to watch the sunrise on Haleakala Mountain. Once at the top it drops to 30-40 degrees even in the summer and I didn't want to weigh my pack down with a thick winter coat but I knew I needed something to keep warm. I wore it with a long sleeve t-shirt and it kept me warm without being too bulky. I'll definitely be wearing this when I visit relatives in Arizona for Christmas. The free return shipping was the deciding factor for me in choosing this jacket over some other brands as I could buy both XXL and XL to see which fits best. I left the XL and returned the XXL. I'm 5ft 6" and wear a size 16 with DD bust and size XL fits snug but not tight with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. If I plan to wear a sweater with this jacket, I would choose XXL. The length of the sleeve was perfect, hitting my hips even though I have a small waist. So if you have a long torso, it might be higher than your hip length.
