Works effectively. It wasn't until a few weeks after I didn't reapply that one of the two cats found out she was curled up in my leather chair. Even in this case, the cat will never scratch the skin. I reapplied the potion and no more cats in my chair. All this and the basic smell are not harmful to people in the house. Actually a pleasant pungent smell for a moment or two and then almost nothing. Highly recommended and will buy again.
