This is a pretty solid lap table for a laptop or wireless keyboard (or whatever). When folded, it has a very compact shape with a small carrying handle. However, it takes considerable force to close this thing - enough to make me afraid of breaking it. The mechanism is very tight. I suspect that with repeated use it will become easier to close over time, but if you suffer from debilitating conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis I can only imagine how awful it would be to try to close something like that. I do NOT have such a condition, so I can't even understand how someone with no power to speak of can be expected to "break" it. Otherwise I think it's worth a try.
