Beware of sizing

Finding size 12 shoes is a hassle to say the least. You can't go to an old shoe store and find this size. So I am very grateful to Revain and their Prime and Free Returns for so many shoes in my size. I bought them in dark grey. They fit great, feel great and I was impressed. So I ordered the same red shoes for myself. When they arrived, I soon found that although the left boot fit exactly like my charcoal, the right boot was larger and the sole was actually half an inch longer than the left boot. So I asked for a replacement and crossed my fingers that the replacement was better. I was lucky and both red replacement shoes fit just as well as my original anthracite ones. Then I decided to try my luck again and ordered the same shoes in Rosie's color. When they arrived they were both the same size but they were much larger than the ones that matched so well. They were like that red right boot that was half an inch longer. I tried different pads and socks but then decided I didn't have to do that for the shoes to work for me. The other two colors pair so well with lots of elastic - it's like wearing a mid-weight stretch sock with a nice sole. But the pink ones were not only longer, they still felt like the stretch was completely gone from the fabric and they didn't even touch my leg. So they went back. In the midst of all this shopping and returns I also ordered a couple of light gray ones that were on the same listing but in a different style. They ended up being throwbacks because they had absolutely no stretch and were almost impossible to get on my legs. Why different styles are offered in the same listing is beyond me. In summary, this is a comfortable shoe at a good price, but it may take some patience to fit.
