They are biodegradable, making it a responsible choice in terms of protecting the environment. They are very soft at both ends. They're also great for cleaning tight corners or carved wood furniture where dust collects in the carvings and you can't completely remove it with a cloth and polish. When cleaning I may have used too much force and I broke a few of them. I blame myself for that, but I think they could be a bit stronger. Otherwise I have nothing to complain about and for the current price I think it's a bargain!
