Very handy for storing cords and hoses. Be careful not to drop them. I use the large size on my 50 foot 3/8" air hose and when I threw it in the back of my pickup truck the black part of the ratchet broke off on the penultimate notch. It's still serviceable because I used the last notch still get a full 50ft of hose in. As another reviewer said, I've found the spring closure makes it worse. I have 10 or more different sizes and as soon as I receive them I take them apart and remove them the spring. Removing the spring from the small ones is easy. Remove the hinge screw, the spring will fall out, then reassemble. The medium and large ones have a cap on the screw which is difficult to remove. Now I push open on all of them the latch and it opens. On the larger ones with heavy tubing I support the weight before releasing the latch.I've been using these for a few years and only have the large kap done. But even the broken one I use almost every day. Oh, and by the way, this list is for the little pinch, not the medicine me. By making a slightly oversized loop on my 14 gauge 100 foot extension, I can fit it into this small clamp. .
