I wore it under a bike helmet to ride a bike on a 40 degree day and it was very warm. I didn't have to use a face mask, but it's nice to know it's there for those days when my nostrils want to freeze up. The mask hides under the hat when not in use and I don't even know it's there. I have what I consider a medium sized head for an adult and it fits perfectly. I had no issues with the ear cups as they were held in place by the helmet's chin strap. I didn't have any problems walking either. On a very windy day or when cycling without a helmet I could see where someone might have an issue with the wind lifting the flaps. Worked great for me! I would recommend it.
