Review on 🎧 Enhance Your Audio Experience with Ortofon Omega 1e Moving Magnet Cartridge by Joel Young

As a professional DJ for 25 years and a guy who loves to play classical music and jazz on vinyl (but still broken) I'm reviewing this Ortofon cartridge. and a needle. First I bought it for a turntable, used primarily for listening to records in my workshop, not as a DJ truck, so please bear that in mind. As a longtime user of Ortofon pickups and styluses (I have a set of Concordes and Pro-S pickups) and converted from a powerful Shure M44-7, this cart is a good compromise between easy to mount on a shell and fairly easy to set up . I have seen in some reviews that this needle can take some time to "break in". That may well be true. Right out of the box I listened to David Bowie's "Changes" and just thought it sounded good. I found the highs to be a bit lacking, the mids sounded good, and the bass and bass sounded quite comfortable to my ears. But I felt the highs weren't clear enough (to be honest, it sounded like the needle might be bad. I'm not sure). goes bad. So, in my "infinite wisdom," I decided to try a replacement needle I've never used, the Ortofon yellow-tipped nightclub. The difference was day and night. This pickup fits all other Ortofon "Concorde-style" pickups, including Pro-S, which is a significant upgrade (you can find this car for almost the same price). However, for most home players, you could do a lot worse for the price! I would recommend the Omega to anyone who has a shell and is looking for something different and I believe that when properly adjusted this needle will perform admirably and handle anything you can play (with the exception of a 78). But I would definitely spend a little more and buy another Ortofon Stylus later if you get stuck.
