Out of the box I was impressed that it was $8. from the box. The trunk is too long, the grip wasn't deep enough for the shifter to go all the way in, there are no teeth on the bracket that lock the grip around the groove it's supposed to sit in to hold it. of the pull-up, and the R 1-5 switch indicator pops up with barley of every effort. I only needed one case so I shortened it and used my original handle. I cut off an inch from the top and glued it in the part where it will pinch where the shift knob meets the boot. and I cut off the bottom 2.5" and glued it back to the bottom clip in the part that came with the new one. I liked the chrome lip at the transition from the trunk to the center console so I've got new parts here in place of the old ones If you need a trunk then this is basically what you need. Don't expect it to be a just perfect fit without a lot of work. Fits my 2003 VW Jetta 1.8t with some modifications.
