I was in Canada a few years ago and although we Americans hadn't started using them, the Kanax credit and debit cards had RFID chips. When I asked what the weird looking golden patch was, I was told that the chips allow cards to be read simply by holding them in front of readers or inserting them into machines, rather than relying on magnetic strips that start to crumble and after that to disappear too many repetitions. . slides through the reader. The problem, I'm told, is that they can be read passively by passers-by who steal your identity and thereby destroy your creditworthiness. When smart cards started showing up in the States, these wallets with RFID blocking in the front pocket weren't far behind. I've been wearing it for a few years now but my old one was thick and heavy and felt weird in the front pocket. But this model from SEDEFN is much prettier. It's made of soft leather that fits neatly into the front pocket without the weird and uncomfortable bulge of older models, and the slot layout for your many cards is more organized. Also, this one has a clip for cash or receipts that you might want to carry around, while my older one had an articulated arm that got a little too loose after a while. Most high-end wallets cost $50 or $60, but this one at Revain is only $19. Get it in one of three colors.
