Ordered 2 of these to try and get rid of the geese in our neighbors pond - about 2 mornings. The first went to a pole stuck in the mud and started flashing that same night. Received several alerted messages from neighbors asking if we lost a drone in a pond and then someone thought something fell out of the plane and called the police - ie they are quite bright and visible from at least 1/4 mile . The other is stuck on a fallen bucket and swings happily around the pond, working like a champ. the pond and the light on the pole disappeared below the surface of the water - i thought someone had removed it but no it was there and i thought it was toast. When the water level dropped it started flashing again - so they're really, really well sealed! I'm not sure I would tip it upside down in the water as the water would push through the switch but as it was fixed underneath and the switch is protected by a plastic collar underneath it remained fully functional when it swam again on. Great! Geese aren't big fans of them and we've had a rebound of 2 versus a flock of 20 since that time last year. Well worth it, and considering 'real' geese lamps cost around $300-$400 , it's worth a bit of fiddling around.
