The Cricut zip case with shoulder strap and carry handle is something special. You do not need a separate case or container to transport the mats. I have 5 blankets and can fit them all in the zipped compartment that doubles as the lid for this suitcase. The lid opens and closes with a zipper. There are two front zipped pockets and two other zipped pockets, one on each side of the bag. The rugs have a slight curve when you pull them out, but they will recover and lay flat in minutes. I don't know how long the mat will last, but in terms of portability, you can take the mats with you when you travel.
