Got this for my 2.5 year old for Christmas. I have yet to give it to him. Even if I do, it will be winter here in the Northeast, so he won't be able to use it until spring. So this review is more of a first impression. Assembly required. It has many parts in its box. We often want children to be able to use objects as soon as they get them from under the tree. I'm guessing it will take at least 5 minutes but probably around 30 minutes to build. So it's not what I would call tree friendly to begin with. So if you don't want to assemble it after opening it, but want the kids to enjoy it right away, you can take the time to assemble it from the box first. I won't do this as he wouldn't be able to use it if he didn't use it at home and it will likely take up less space in the box. It seems almost all are plastic, with a small amount of metal. It seems durable but is still fairly cheaply made. Tires are plastic. The color is very dark grey, like jet black. Apparently he will be happy if he can use it. I'll update in a few months to see how it goes. I'm really looking forward to it as I bent over to push him on his tricycle and it will be so much better for my back!
