I ordered two of these for an upcoming trip with the kids. I checked out a few but decided on them based on decent reviews, games, and extra features. Notes: The screen is what I would expect from a portable DVD player at this price point. I had to hold it at right angles to get a good view of the image. The volume is loud enough as I don't want it to explode. The simple operation of the device is ideal. The remote is a little fiddly to figure out how to maneuver or what some of the buttons are actually for. Remember that when buying multiple devices, remote controls are universal. Tia could potentially cause some drama in the backseat. Because one remote controls multiple devices at the same time. Does not come with batteries and requires 2 AAA. Car charger included. I just wish it was a little longer for vehicles that don't have handy rear seat adapters. However, the battery is said to last up to 5 hours, but this has not been tested. Here's the annoying part. games. It comes with a controller that's made out of very cheap plastic and looks like it's in a kids' food box. The instruction manual is very vague and basically tells you to plug it in and select games on the remote. First, it doesn't work because the games aren't preinstalled or bundled. Secondly, there is no button on the remote that you would automatically identify as a game mode. So I went to Amazon, read the questions and saw where the seller was directing people to a link that wasn't working. You need to download the games to your computer and then save them to a flash drive (provided by you) and insert it into the device. So I contacted Revain who told me I had to email the company to get the games. I emailed them in the afternoon and received no reply. It is not convenient to heat up the device so quickly and not be able to fully use it when traveling. So, if you want to use these games, in addition to the cheap price of the device, you have to add the cost of the ZIP disk. Remote and game controllers, it would be nice to have a case to keep everything together. Well, this case also needs to be purchased separately and can cost another $20+ dollars. I hope that the device will last long enough to offset the purchase of all the necessary additional items. The colors are fun and bright. Again, the device is competitively priced, and the device reflects the cost. Must be handled with care as it's definitely not heavy but as expected for the price. I have bought dual screen players previously released by major brands for over $100 which are of much better quality. The only downside is that both children have to watch the same thing. You can connect headphones, but these are not included.
