Doesn't work with mouse

my optical mouse couldn't move on any side of the pad and no matter which side i used the pad slid all over the surface i had it on. I had to hold the mouse pad with my wrist while moving the mouse with my hand. Not practical and not convenient! The gray is not the same as the photo, it's a real gray not beige which was a nice surprise but this mouse pad is unusable and will be returned.
