Material: I love sateen and sew all of my casual garments out of it, because it is a quality shirting cotton that holds its shape. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this dress is made out of sateen! It is a shirt suiting material that is rigid enough to hold the cool shoulder shape without starch and ironing, but soft enough to flow when you twirl. If you are not savvy on fabrics, imagine a men's button-up shirt material.Design: This is a double full circle skirt, reminiscent of the kind you see in traditional South American cumbia dress. I love twirling in it, and the shoulders look like angel arches in silhouette. It is gorgeous happy dress, and I cannot wait to wear it out. Garden parties, spring daytime dates, Easter picnics, these would all be great places to wear it.Fit: Firstly, this dress is true to tailored sizing, not vanity sizing so TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS and order accordingly. A lot of brands in the USA try to make a size 14 feel like a regular "large," but in reality it is an XL according to true sizing.Value: Overall I am very happy and love this dress. I do think that $200 in general is just out of reach for the average person, HOWEVER, this dress uses every bit of that cost in the labor to make something like this. The ruffles look amazing, the amount of material you get in this double-full skirt was much more than I expected. The ruffles are double-faced, so that alone in material eats up a lot of the cost of that price-point. The pricing is more than fair for the quality you get. Remember that this is a quality piece, not fast-fashion.Final thoughts: This dress is lovely, and I am a happy buyer. I had no idea who Sienna was before Making the Cut, and now I am hooked.
